Covered with an oily silicone type substance–be careful when trying on! My daughter walked around the house to see how they fit (had to buy 1 size larger) and our wood floors and throw rugs all became dangerously slippery everywhere she stepped! We discovered that the boots are coated with what appears to be silicone, and it came off on every surface they came in contact with. Once they were washed in very soapy water, they were fine. I had to thoroughly scrub the floors and rugs to get it off them, too. Other than that, they are fine–they appear to be very well made and comfortable and look like they will wear well.

I live in the North East, and knew that these boots would serve their purpose! I ordered a size 7 (usually a 7.5) and it was extremely difficult to slide my foot into them. Too tight for a wool sock. I will be sending back in exchange for an 8. One major thing that I should point out is that Bogs is showing these boots in a high gloss patent leather black (which is what I ordered). By far they are not as advertised. I own black patent leather boots, and these don’t fit the bill! No reflection on Zappos. Still a loyal customer! I will try & upload a photo so you can see how the patent leather looks.

These boots rock! I got them for four-wheeling and they are perfect for the foot shifter. I am confident that they will do well in the harsh Northern Michigan winter. These were a great purchase for me!

My best friend got some and said how her toes are so warm when we go hunting. I got some and love them this the best shoe ever for the cold, thanks for the great shipment too.

These boots are so comfortable, easy to get on and off (important when I am juggling my kids and their gear), and cute. I did not get them for style, more for warmth and function (which they have), but they look great, especially with leggings or skinny jeans. I wear them all the time!

So far these boots have served their purpose. I wear a 6.5 and purchased a 7, they are comfortable and well made. I do recommend them!

Purchased these for outside farm work in the greater Seattle area. Bought them on Thursday, received them on Friday (love the VIP next day Zappos shipping) and wore them all day outside on Saturday. They were warm and comfortable on a cold November day. Normally wear an 8 1/2 or 9 shoe and the size 9 is great with thick socks. These are also easy to get on with the handles. A nice boot.

I had my hopes way up on these. Unfortunately I don’t think they’re worth the money. Yes, they are waterproof but only up to your ankle. Anything higher than that is neoprene so I have had my ankles and lower calves wet wearing these. Pretty comfy but not enough for the money I spent.

These boots are great! They kept my feet warm as I walked through the snow and the icy Vermont river. They are also very comfortable. I usually wear a 6½, but as suggested I got a 7 and they fit perfectly. They are the best winter boots that I have found.

My husband has had a pair for over a year and loves his. After just one wearing I understand why.

I have a kennel of dogs so needed a pair of boots that could get me through the sloppy times and keep my feet warm. I also have large calves so wanted a boot I could put on easily. These boots fit the bill. I love the handles at the top. They keep my feet warm and dry. I probably wouldn’t use them for sledding just because they are so big and clunky but I like them for every day.

Did not like this boot at all. Pretty ugly, and felt very clumsy. No arch support, and the ankle area was very big, so there was no support there either. The handles are a cool idea, but…meh.

These are great utility boots! They are waterproof (even wading into the water) and warm (insulated). I absolutely love them! Good fit, too.

A great boot for truly hideous weather. If you want to stay dry in a gully-washer or in disgustingly wet snow, this is the boot for you. And they really let my feet breathe pretty well considering the boot feet are absolutely waterproof. I probably would not wear these in temperatures above about 55 degrees F unless I anticipated wading in cold water. I normally wear a size 10. After reading other reviews I ordered a 10 and the boots fit fine with medium-weight socks. They are a little wide, but the width is needed in order to get them on and off, with no zipper etc. I found them quite comfortable right out of the box. The first day I wore them, I walked the 1.5 miles between my office and the train station. No rubs, pinches, or blisters. The boots are a bit clunky, they definitely do not make you feet look smaller or thinner. They are fairly heavy, so walking is slower than if wearing jogging shoes. I bought the black shiny to up the style factor a little, without making my non-dainty feet the center of attention.

These boots are very convenient! I can easily slip them on and off. (Essential because I am usually holding a baby and have a four yr. old running around.) I live in the Northeast, so these are perfect for all seasons. As far as fit goes, I wear between a 9.5 and 10. I ordered the 10, and I am glad I did. The length is perfect. They are very wide in the toe area. It can feel a little sloppy, but it can be easily fixed with socks. Love them! P.S. I know a size 10 is big, but these boots make my feet look huge.

Overall, these are great winter boots. Since it hasn’t been very cold/snowy this year in Illinois I haven’t had many opportunities to use them yet, but when I have worn them they’ve worked well.

These are the best rubber boots I have ever had. What is nice it they go down to -40. It’s better than a snow boot and easier to walk in. I am very happy with these Bogs and I also purchased two more for my kids.

Best dog-walking boot ever. I ordered/returned/tried on dozens of boots last year unsuccessfully in search of the perfect boot. My goal: waterproof and high enough for slogging through flooded street corners or deep snow in Central Park; warm enough for standing standing still in freezing snow for a long period of time; light and comfortable enough to walk a mile of city blocks; quick and easy to get on and off; stylish enough to hold their own. These are wonderful. Mission accomplished. They are so warm, and quick and easy to slip on and off. I can wear a heavy sock when super cold (I orederd down to an 8 because they don’t care 8 1/2) but most days I slip into them barefoot and go. Stylish? Um well depends on your personal style. Works for me. I ordered the shiny black. Problem solved on all counts.

I really like these, and get compliments on these (mostly from mature ladies, but still!). My main issue is that these are really slippery on wet metal (sidewalk grates, city tree bases, wet escalator steps) as well as wet wood (my deck), which isn’t what I need in a overpriced, somewhat clunky boot!

I am a wearer of minimalist shoes whenever possible. I had a pair of waterproof boots from one of the leading minimalist footwear brands and they fell apart in no time. A friend recommended Bogs, and since they don’t have much of a heel rise, I thought I’d give them a try. I am typically a size 8.5, but I followed the instructions and ordered up a size to 9 / 40. They fit fine, with plenty of room, which I like. For enhanced minimalism, I removed the footbeds. These boots are very warm, very waterproof, and I’ve received compliments on them. I walk a lot, and they are fine for long walks with no pain to the feet. On very polished surfaces (ice, polished tile), they are a little slippery, but in general, traction is pretty good. They seem very well made, like they will last a while. I would recommend them. A good compromise for winter for minimalist shoe folks.

These are great boots! Finally I found something that fits my wide 17.5 inch calves but also doesn’t come off when I get bogged down in mud at the horse barn. They are also warm, very comfortable, and fit my wide feet perfectly. And for “work” boots, they are still pretty cool-looking. Well worth the money!

I bought one pair of Bogs three years ago. They were big and great for running around in the snow. I purchased a new pair last winter, and the last must have changed. They do not fit the same. They are too tight in the calf (I have wide calfs), and a lot tighter in foot portion. That is very disappointing.
StephS –
I bought the men’s style because I wanted plain black rather than the women’s patterned and colored styles. I also have thick calves and women’s boots often do not fit. I wear a women’s size 9, so ordered the men’s size 7 and they fit perfectly. I broke them in around my apartment first and then wore them out in the rain last night for the first time – they were super comfy and also kept me dry.

I purchased these after having used a low cut style of bogs for several years. A local sporting goods store had them on “clearance sale” and they were the last pair the store had. I have used them for hunting in all weather and my feet have NEVER been cold or gotten wet. I would highly recommend these boots for their quality, their price and their ease of putting on and taking off. 🙂

I put these boots through the ringer with them being my go-to chore boot. This is only my second pair because my first pair has lasted almost 10 years which is unheard of. I recently contacted Bogs customer service to purchase new inserts because after 10 years of abuse, I have finally wore out the original ones. I tried many universal inserts to no avail. They immediately asked my address to send me out free inserts! A company that stands behind their product that much instead of trying to push me into buying new boots is amazing. So… I went and purchased another pit just because. Now I have two pairs with the second pair living up to the quality of the first. You will not be disappointed with these boots. Absolutely worth the price. Love them!
